How to Kill acne

By Acne Guru | December 30, 2009

Most every individual has had a battle with acne.  In order to choose the proper treatment you should understand what acne is and how some people have more of a battle with it than others.  Acne can be cause by genetics, stress, inflammation owing to scratching irritated skin and the most common is hormonal activity in which we all know it as “puberty”.  In most cases over the counter treatments are successful in treating this type of acne.  It is very important that you continue using the acne products used in the puberty phases to kill the acne forever.

Although it has never been linked directly to the cause of acne, your diet can help with the prevention of acne.  A good amount of water intake dehydrates our body and as a result the clogging of the skin decreases.  Eating more of a balanced diet that gives you all your daily vitamins and minerals you need help build and keep your skin healthy and free of bacteria causing the skin pores to clog.

Best Acne Treatment

There are different types of treatments to kill the bacterium that causes acne.  One of the common treatments is over the counter medication.  They are very effective and clean all the way down into the pores of skin.  Acne cleansing facial soap for different skin types such as dry and oily.  Alcohol based astringents has a lot to offer when it comes to cleaning the surface of the skin.   This too helps unclog your pores.  But one of the most important treatments is the Benzoyl Peroxide that is found in prescription antibiotic creams.  This is the active ingredient that kills the bacteria that causes acne but does not necessarily mean that you will always need a prescription.  The over the counter acne creams that have the Benzoyl Peroxide ingredient but with a lesser percentage of strength, it is still qualified to kill the bacteria causing acne.

The severity of the acne can be great and in these cases are typically hereditary.  In this case, it is always suggested that you consult your dermatologist.  They can identify the type of your skin and prescribe you the ideal medication that works for you.  One of the treatments can be a prescription ointment with the highest percentage of benzoyl peroxide or a very strong oral antibiotic.  Both can destroy the bacteria externally and internally.  One of the latest method to treat acne is Microdermabrasion. This keeps our skin dehydrated eliminating all the dead skin.  This helps the bacteria debris to escape the pores.
